Refund & Cancellation Policy
Saugat Community Welfare Society (SCWS) — Effective Date: October 27, 2026
This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains the terms applicable to donations made to Saugat Community Welfare Society (SCWS) through its official website and authorised payment channels. Please read this policy carefully before making a donation.
1. Nature of Donations
Saugat Community Welfare Society (SCWS) is a registered society established to pursue lawful charitable, educational, community welfare and other objectives permitted under its governing documents and applicable law.
All donations made through this website are voluntary contributions intended to support the Society's charitable activities and projects. A donation does not constitute the purchase of goods or a commercial service unless expressly stated otherwise.
2. No Refund on Voluntary Donations
Donations Are Non-Refundable
Once a donation has been successfully completed and received by SCWS, it is voluntary and non-refundable. SCWS does not ordinarily accept cancellation requests or refund requests arising from a change of mind, a change in the donor's personal circumstances, a change in project preference, or a subsequent decision not to contribute.
Donors are requested to verify the donation amount, payment details and intended recipient before confirming a transaction. By proceeding with a donation, the donor acknowledges this policy.
Nothing in this policy excludes any refund, reversal, remedy or other right that must be provided under applicable law or the applicable payment provider's rules.
3. Failed, Pending or Duplicate Payments
A payment may occasionally be debited from a donor's bank account even when the transaction is displayed as failed, pending or unsuccessful on the website.
- Failed transaction: If the payment was not successfully received by SCWS, the donor should check the transaction status with the bank or payment provider. Any reversal will be handled in accordance with the applicable bank, payment provider and legal procedures.
- Duplicate debit: If the same donation appears to have been charged more than once, the donor may contact SCWS with the relevant transaction references for verification.
- Incorrect transaction status: If the bank confirms a debit but the donation is not reflected in the Society's records, SCWS will investigate the matter with its payment provider where appropriate.
These cases are treated as payment reconciliation or transaction-dispute matters, rather than ordinary requests to return a voluntary donation. Any reversal, refund or correction will be subject to verification and applicable requirements.
4. Unauthorised Transactions
If you believe that a transaction was made without your authorisation, contact your bank or payment provider promptly and notify SCWS using the contact details provided below.
SCWS will review the information available and cooperate with the relevant payment provider or competent authority as appropriate. Reporting a transaction does not automatically establish eligibility for a refund; the matter will be assessed under the applicable rules.
5. How to Report a Payment Issue
For a failed payment, suspected duplicate debit, missing donation record or unauthorised transaction, please contact us using our official support channel.
Please include the following information:
- Donor's name
- Registered email address or mobile number
- Transaction date and amount
- Payment gateway or bank transaction ID, if available
- A brief description of the issue
Do not send your card PIN, UPI PIN, internet banking password or OTP to SCWS.
SCWS will acknowledge and review a properly submitted complaint within a reasonable period. Resolution and settlement timelines may depend on verification, the bank and the payment provider. Any applicable statutory or provider-mandated deadline will prevail.
6. Donation Receipts and Tax Benefits
A donation acknowledgement or receipt, where issued, confirms the recorded contribution. It does not by itself guarantee eligibility for a tax deduction. Tax benefits are available only where the Society has the applicable approval and the donor satisfies the relevant statutory conditions.
If a receipt contains an error or a successful payment has not been recorded, please contact SCWS for verification and correction where appropriate.
7. Changes to This Policy
SCWS may update this policy to reflect changes in its operations, applicable law or payment provider requirements. The revised policy will be published on this page with an updated effective date where appropriate.
